The Mailing Piece

urgent letters, business concept of processing mails

The Envelope please……. Or Maybe Not. Choose the format that best presents your message within your budget – small or large post cards, personalized letters, folded self-mailers, booklets, etc. Which format does your targeted recipient want to receive?

  • Small or large post cards
  • Personalized letters
  • Folded self-mailers
  • Booklets
  • Larger Magazines/Catalogs

What will make you stand out from the crowd like that red apple at the top of the page?

Which format does your targeted recipient want to receive?

Remember –

  • Folks see the mailing panel side first. That so-called back side makes the important first impression.

Be sure to use color, pictures, banners, etc. to capture the attention on the mailing panel side. Otherwise, the piece will get thrown away rather than turned over to see the other side.

  • Postal regulations regarding sizes and paper weights are changing and being strictly enforced as the post office is requiring mail pieces to fit their machinery.

(It’s very true – an eighth of an inch in the wrong place can mean 11 cents more per piece in postage.)

  • The new barcode takes more room. If you want to pay the cheapest postage on addressed pieces, then you must make the address block wide enough to accommodate the new barcode. That will get you automated rates in any of the processing categories.
